Sony confirms PlayStation Network is down

Is your PlayStation Network (PSN) down? You are not alone. The PlayStation Network is facing a global outage and has affected PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PS Vita and some older models as well. Sony has also confirmed the outage and says it is working on resolving the issue. “You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” reads the Sony PSN status page.
As per the PSN Service status page, “some services are experiencing issues”, which includes issues with account management –– signing in to the account, creating an account, and editing account details. This issue is being faced by PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, and web users. Sony has also confirmed that users are also facing issues with game streaming on PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, web platforms. “You might have difficulty launching games, apps or network features,” the website reads.
Additionally, the outage has also affected the PlayStation Store –– including facing problems with purchasing titles, downloads, browsing, searching, and redeeming vouchers. This issue also affects PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, web and other users.
On social media, many PlayStation fans have shared their frustration about the outage.
One user’s reaction caught our eye, who said it was their only day off in the week, and they couldn’t play games on their PlayStation due to the network outage.
Sony has confirmed that the issue has occurred, but they are yet to reveal what has caused the outage. The network has now been down for a few hours –– about five hours. Keep watching this space for any updates on the same.
